Summer 2025 Spotlight on Benefits Newsletter Now Available

  • Paid Parental Leave Benefit Becomes Effective July 1, 2025. Effective July 1, 2025, Health Plan participants who take leave from employment to bond with their newborn, newly adopted or newly fostered child may apply for the paid parental leave (PPL) benefit. PPL is a separately funded benefit that was negotiated by the DGA. PPL will provide partial income replacement for 8 weeks (can be used sequentially or in non-consecutive weekly increments) to eligible participants.   • Cash Prices for GLP-1s for Weight Loss Result in Same or Lower Cost to Participants. Effective March 1, 2025, the Health Plan’s Board of Trustees ended coverage of GLP-1s prescribed solely for weight loss and grandfathered participants who were taking a covered GLP-1 for weight loss until July 9, 2025. Effective July 9, 2025, the Health Plan will also terminate its partnership with weight management benefits provider, Flyte Health. This article highlights ways participants can save on GLP-1s if paying out-of-pocket. The Health Plan’s continues to cover non-GLP-1s for weight management, subject to Health Plan rules.
  • Employer Pension Contributions Increased from 8.5% to 8.75% of Compensation, with the Additional 0.25% Allocated to the Basic Plan Effective July 1, 2025. As determined by the Basic Agreement and FLTTA, beginning July 1, 2025, pension contributions for signatory employers will increase by 0.25% to 8.75% of compensation. This increase will be fully allocated to the Basic Plan. For more information on this increase and its allocation, refer to the March 2025 Pension Plans Summary Plan Description and its updates.
  • CVS Updates Its List of Covered Medications, Effective July 1, 2025. CVS Caremark periodically reviews and updates its list of covered medications, called the formulary, to ensure access to safe, effective treatments in all drug classes. Effective July 1, 2025, CVS Caremark revised its list of covered medications in its formulary. Changes to the formulary affect which medications are covered by the Health Plan and how much you pay out-of-pocket for prescriptions. To view the complete formulary, visit dgaplans.org/formulary.
  • New in myPHP: Track Your Progress Toward Your Annual Deductible, Out-of-Pocket Limits and More. The Plans’ online benefits portal, myPHP, now offers more ways to help you manage your out-of-pocket medical costs and plan your future health coverage. Access new information (e.g., how much you’ve paid toward your annual deductible, your progress toward non-network out-of-pocket limits and more) now via myPHP’s Health Eligibility and Health Claims tabs. MyPHP is open to all DGA Plans’ Participants and their dependents ages 18 and over. To subscribe and gain 24/7 access to your benefits information, visit www.dgaplans.org/about-myPHP.
  • Have New Contact Information? Tell Us. Did you move and tell the DGA but not the DGA-Producer Pension and Health Plans? Don’t miss out on important pension or health benefits because your contact information is outdated with the Plans office, which you must notify separately. Read this article for three quick and simple ways to update the Plans office when your mailing address, phone number or other important contact information changes (HINT: myPHP definitely makes the list).
