The DGA-Producer Health Plan offers participants the option of making premium payments online, giving participants the ability to:
Interested participants should visit the online bill pay website to create a new user account.
Participants who require immediate coverage activation for prescriptions or other benefit issues should contact the Health Plan Office prior to making an online payment to avoid processing delays.
Furthermore, participants will continue to have the option of setting up recurring payments with the Health Plan office.
It is important that the Health Plan receives your dependent premium or COBRA/self-pay premium by the due date. While you do have a 30-day grace period from the due date to remit payment to the Health Plan, payments received during this grace period can cause you a serious headache.
Each week, the Health Plan sends out an eligibility file to its benefit managers. This file lists everyone that is eligible to receive Health Plan benefits for the next week. If your premium payment is not received by the due date and you or your dependents attempt to obtain benefits, you will still be eligible for benefits (assuming you pay the applicable premium before the grace period has expired), but you will have to pay full price for the benefit at the time of service and then submit your claim for reimbursement. In some cases, you will not receive full reimbursement, as the Health Plan will not reimburse for the difference between the full price that you paid and the discounted price that the Health Plan would have paid.
For example, if you have not paid your self-pay premium by the due date and you attempt to obtain a prescription, your pharmacist will check Medco’s eligibility file to confirm that you are eligible for benefits. The eligibility file will show that you are not eligible. You will then have to pay the full price of the medication without the Medco discount. Once your premium payment is received by the Health Plan, you can submit the claim to the Health Plan for reimbursement. However, you will not be reimbursed for the difference between the full price of the medication and the Medco discounted price.
To avoid any inconvenience, please make sure that your premium payment is received by the Health Plan by the due date.
