MPTF’s Bridge to Health Provides Low Cost Health Center Visits to Temporarily Uninsured Industry Members
Because of the unique challenges in maintaining health plan coverage for those working in the entertainment industry, the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF) has introduced the Bridge to Health program.
Bridge to Health was created to assist industry members who are temporarily uninsured by providing basic healthcare services for a fee of $25 per visit. Whether you’re an existing uninsured patient, a first-time MPTF Health Center patient, or even a patient who has in-patient hospital coverage only, you may qualify for Bridge to Health by showing proof of working in the entertainment industry within the last three years.
In addition, the Bridge to Health program will:
- provide basic lab services at no extra charge, if necessary;
- cover x-rays at no charge when performed at an MPTF radiology facility;
- assist with obtaining low cost prescription medications through MPTF pharmacy or other local pharmacies; and
- direct the patient to specialty care resources in the community when specialty care and diagnostics are required.
Due to the limited number of Bridge to Health appointments available, appointments must be scheduled in advance by calling any MPTF Health Center. Walk-in appointments cannot be accommodated.
